Welcome to the York Trails support page! If you need help using the app, check out the common questions below.


Getting Started

  • Which devices are supported?
    York Trails currently works on iPhone only.

  • Why does the app ask for location services?
    The app relies on GPS to track your position and provide dynamic routing to different locations in York.

  • How do I start using the app?
    After granting location permissions, you’ll see a map with multiple locations. Your position is shown as a blue dot, and you can select a destination to begin navigating.


Navigation & Features

  • How does navigation work?
    Select a location on the map, and the app will generate a route. The route updates every 10 seconds for real-time guidance.

  • What is the fast find icon?
    The fast find icon helps you quickly locate your current position on the map.

  • What does the solid blue arrow do?
    The arrow at the top right lets you toggle the direction cone on and off.

  • What happens when I reach a location?
    When you arrive, the location turns red, and you can mark it as visited. You can then select another location from the list.


Troubleshooting

  • The app isn’t detecting my location.
    Ensure that location services are enabled in your iPhone’s settings:
    Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and make sure [Game Name] is set to “While Using the App.”

  • The map isn’t updating properly.
    Try closing and reopening the app or ensuring you have a stable internet connection.

  • I can’t mark a location as visited.
    Make sure you are physically at the location and have a strong GPS signal. Try refreshing the app if needed.
